I am a total nerd and I am not ashamed to admit it.  I love technology.  Computers, code,  graphic design, photography, and even typography… I love it all!    There are two “techy” things that I wanted for Mother’s Day this year.   The first was a Compact System Camera with a long zoom lens.  I’ve also  been drooling over the Samsung  Galaxy Tablets.  I wanted something bigger than my smart phone, but small enough to stuff into a purse.

When I spotted the Samsung NX1100 Camera/ Tablet Bundle  I knew it was exactly what I wanted!   Why just settle on one when I can get both at a great price?

This bundle is a great deal!  I priced the Samsung NX1100 with the 18-55mm lens at other stores (which did not have a bundle option).  They were actually more expensive than what I paid for the bundle.  I couldn’t believe it! I was very impressed with the selection that Sam’s Club had.

The Samsung NX1100 was super fast to set up and easy to use right out of the box.   I was very impressed with the quality of pictures that I was able to take with this camera!  This camera has it all.   It even has Adobe Lightroom free!   The manual controls are a plus and I love that you have more than one lens choice!  If you need a  portable DSLR “like” camera or want to upgrade from a regular point and shoot I recommend this one!  It may be a silly thing, but I also love that it  is white!

I have been very impressed with the natural light pictures I have taken with this camera (like the one above)!

The flash was actually less harsh than I thought it would be!  Since this camera has a hot shoe you have more options than the one that comes with it too!  The camera also does well in low light photography.

The Samsung Galaxy 2 7.0 Tablet was equally impressive.  I was amazed at how easy it was to figure out even with all the buttons and bells!  This is a major plus for me because I don’t like to spend hours trying to figure out how to use my latest piece of technology!   So far I love all the apps that I get, but I may just have to get my kids a separate one so I can use this one!  ;)  Kindle is SO much easier to read on my tablet than my phone!  That is a BIG plus!

I do love a bouquet of flowers and nothing can beat a hand written card, but technology is my playground!  I am having fun with my new toys for Mother’s Day!  :)

I am super jealous!!! I’d love to get one of those! That’s a great price too! That may just be the camera I’ve been looking for!

So glad to hear you really loved this bundle! I know you’re way more advanced in photography than I am so to hear you give the camera your stamp of approval means a lot. And I agree – that picture of your girls with the flash seems way less harsh than I would expect with a flash. Thanks Rachel!!

I really wished that I had something to carry around that was at least comparable to my big camera… I really love my new camera! Thanks for stopping by, Jillian! :)

I kept pulling out my phone instead of my SLR at SoFabCon. That’s when I realized I needed an inbetween camera like this.
I think this is going on my birthday list. I’m turning something with a zero so someone will treat me, right?

What? You are like a baby… lol I am so excited to have something light to carry around. Every time I pick it up I almost throw it in the air it’s so light! lol

This looks like the perfect camera to upgrade to from a digital point and shoot. It also doesn’t look like its too big to lug around. I’d hate to buy a camera that I’d end up not using due to its bulkiness. The tablet is an awesome bonus!
