Mom Cave! {Come and Dream with Me}

Mom Cave! {Come and Dream with Me}

Lately I have been dreaming of having my own “Mom Cave”.  A place where I can go to when I need a little peace and quiet, study the Bible, read a book, blog, craft or just whatever I want!  You know… time to myself (what is that?)!

Our little back bedroom has been many things throughout the years, but we recently moved my littlest into the room with her sisters.  So of course I am thinking of all the things that I could do with the unused space (other than just throwing stuff in there!).  Before I begin to show you what I am dreaming of… let’s take a trip down memory lane!

Here is what the room looked like when we moved in:

The carpet really makes me think eww.  I never liked that carpet!

This it how it was decorated for my older two girls when they were 1 and 3!  I had no idea when I started painting this room that it would be so overwhelmingly pink, but they loved it and that is all that mattered.

The next pic is how we decorated the room for our littlest girl when she was born.  We completely re-did the room at that time from the walls to the floors.  I really wanted my first dedicated nursery to be something special… and it was!  This SO makes me miss her baby days.

Now that the little one has outgrown the nursery the room has become a catch all/ spare room.  Here is what it looks like right now:

Could this be any more boring?  Wow.  It would take some work to make this room into a Mom Cave!  One thing that I think really screams “Mom Cave” is a nice sofa to sit and relax on.  I am pretty picky when it comes to styles.  I love Mid Century Modern styles and styles that have clean lines.  No matter what the style a sofa must be comfortable!   I was searching online and I fell in love with the La-Z-Boy selection of sofas and sectionals.  I love that you can customize any of their recliners, sofas, sectionals, and loveseats.  They have over 900 fabrics to choose from!   I really want a sectional for my living room, but I think a sofa would fit the best in my Mom Cave.  The La-Z-Boy website has tons of inspiration rooms and you can even design your own room with the La-Z-Boy 3D Room Planner!  I already knew that La-Z-Boy is a  brand associated with comfort, style and quality.  What I didn’t know was that they have been in business for 85 years and remain loyal to the principles and values instilled by the La-Z-Boy Founders.  I am always looking for businesses with integrity and I know that La-Z-Boy is one that I can trust!

Want to see what I am dreaming of?   Take a little journey with me in the design process.  Here we go!

Mom Cave Room

After seeing this picture my husband declared, “It’s You”!  That is what I was going for!  I guess you could say that my style is somewhere in between Mid Century Modern and French Country.  This would be a room where I could craft, read books, relax and hang out with friends.  I am sure that many memories could be made teaching my girls how to sew and make crafts too!

La-Z-Boy Furniture has about every kind of style represented in their selections.

  I really wish that I lived closer to one of their stores, but I love that I can buy the sofas online!  What about you?  What is your dream Mom Cave?  Have you ever thought of a space like that?  The La-Z-Boy Pinterest Contest is running from January 28 until February 11 where you could win $5000.00 to create your own Mom Cave!  Click below for details:
