Why Go Camping? {Go Camping Series #2}

 ”For the beauty of the earth,

For the glory of the skies;

For the love which from our birth,

Over and around us lies;

Lord of all, to Thee we raise

This, our hymn of grateful praise.”

(Hymn by Folliott S. Pierpoint, 1864)

 There is just something about camping and being in the great outdoors that gets me in a good mood!  I really don’t consider myself and outdoorsy type of gal, but I really do love to camp out!    Growing up my family didn’t go camping because of a condition that my dad has, but now that his condition is gone we all go camping together!  My mom’s big family gets together every year at the same time and we all enjoy about a week of nature and each other!

 This is our tent!  It’s really pretty big.  Our family of 5 fits nicely in here.   We usually go in the summer and it is really hot.  It takes a good day or two to get used to being outside in the heat, but as long as we have some fans its pretty bearable.   The one thing that I really do hate about camping is the bugs, but I have learned to just ignore them as best as I can! LOL

 Plus, when I see my kids playing with insects I can’t hate them all that much.  This little ladybug is cute!

 So is this inchworm!  It was so neat to watch him crawl around!  My middle child was absolutely enthralled with this little guy.

 We also brought the pop up pool for the little kids to play in.  This really helped to beat the heat!

What fun things do you like to do when camping?  Check back in the next week or so and I will have even more ideas posted!
