Thrifty Thursday: DIY Nail Art

This pedicure turned out awesome!  I love the results!  My 3 year old daughter said  “They are so so stripe-i-ful!!!“  I would have to agree.
I should mention that I am normally not very good at painting designs on nails.
It wasn’t until I found the “deco art” line of nail polish.  It is designed with a thinner tip to make it easier to paint details with.  The best part is that they are sold at the Dollar Tree!
(((( On a side note: Clearly I’m not a foot model!  Not sure why it looks like I have the feet of a ten year old, but there ya go!))))
DIY Nail Art
Materials:
Art Deco Nail Polish found at the Dollar Tree (may be sold elsewhere) $1.00 ea.
total cost= $2.00!

Directions:
Gather up supplies.  Make sure to have your nails trimmed and all nail polish removed before application.

Start by coating the nail with the lighter color.  I chose black and white.  You want your color choices to have high contrast.  Make sure the bottom coat dries completely before painting  the stripes.  Start painting your stripes horizontally from the bottom up.

They don’t need to be straight.  Since they are zebra stripes they need to be uneven.

Keep going until you reach the top then fill in more until you like the look.  With all art… try not to think about it too much- it needs to be imperfect!!!

Once you are done with the first mimic the same design on the rest.  Now you have funky zebra stripe nails!!!

These are Pinky Pie’s “Stripe-i-ful” nails!

Happy Creating!
