Tutorial: part 2 T-shirt into Beanie…


I used the same T-shirt to also create a matching beanie along with the bib. In the same way I traced a beanie then drew about 1/4 inch around that except for the bottom which I made 1 inch longer to compensate for the folded edge. Cut pattern out of T-shirt twice.

Now that you have the two pieces cut out, fold one side at a time to make an edge (usually 1/2 inch). This will be a double fold. First fold a small edge- then fold again to make the 1/2 inch edge. See pic below… I did not use pins, but they would be helpful at this point. Make that you are sewing on the side facing up. Sew at the very top edge.

The next step is to pin the two pieces together back sides facing up. Sew around the edge except for the bottom of beanie. Once done turn inside out…make the flower in the same way as the bib… then you are done!
